Progress. Safety. Community First.Ian@Giffin4Mayor.ca

Eight pillars for practical municipal leadership.

Uxbridge needs leadership that is serious about infrastructure, affordability, fiscal discipline, transparency, community quality of life and MUCH more!

1

Safer Roads & Smarter Infrastructure

Fix Concession 6 & Sandford Road intersection, fix Concession 6 & Davis Drive intersection, fix Toronto & Brock traffic lights - it's STILL not right; implement windrow snow clearing in winter; build a new animal shelter on time and on budget; strengthen emergency preparedness and community safety.

2

Affordable Living for Everyone

Recruit a budget-friendly grocery store, support affordable, sustainable housing, make life easier for seniors, young families & first-time buyers, protect Uxbridge’s rural character through responsible growth.

3

A Stronger Local Economy

Increase support for economic development, work with our BIA and Chamber of Commerce, strengthen local procurement by "shopping local", attract the businesses Uxbridge needs now and in the future, leverage downtown revitalization and the Anderson Blvd Industrial Park advantage.

4

A Vibrant, Livable Community

Revitalize downtown Uxbridge the "right" way, invest in public art, events, and beautification, support youth leadership and engagement, strengthen parks, trails, and recreation, find a solution for the Zephyr Library, promote environmental stewardship and sustainability.

5

Accountability & Transparency

Transparent budgets and responsible spending, establish a dedicated Accountability & Transparency Committee, accessible, responsive leadership, represent every corner of Uxbridge, including every hamlet and neighbourhood, report back in plain language to residents and community groups.

6

Practical Transportation Solutions

Full-time dedicated Dial-A-Ride service for all residents, conventional and accessible transit options, advocate for practical regional transit connections that work for Uxbridge. We have to connect Uxbridge with the Lake Ontario Five... Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, and Clarington. And let's not forget commuters to York Region.

7

Fiscal Responsibility & Value for Taxpayers

Responsible budgeting and long-term planning, deliver projects on time and on budget, ensure value, accountability and results.

8

Better Communications

Respectful, professional communication, clear updates in plain language, stronger connection with residents and community groups, a more informed Uxbridge.

Platform summary

The Eight Pillars for a Stronger Uxbridge

Uxbridge needs disciplined leadership, practical execution, and a clear plan that puts residents first. My eight pillars are built around one central commitment: delivering real results with professionalism, accountability, and respect for the people who call this community home.

We will make our roads, intersections, winter maintenance, emergency preparedness, and core infrastructure safer, smarter, and more reliable. That means addressing long-standing problem areas like Concession 6 and Sandford Road, Concession 6 and Davis Drive, and Toronto and Brock, while ensuring major projects such as the new animal shelter are delivered on time, on budget, and with proper oversight.

We will make affordability a priority by pursuing a budget-friendly grocery option, supporting practical and sustainable housing, helping seniors, young families, and first-time buyers, and protecting the rural character that makes Uxbridge distinct. Growth must be responsible, measured, and aligned with the real needs of residents.

We will strengthen the local economy by investing in economic development, working closely with the BIA and Chamber of Commerce, improving local procurement, attracting the businesses Uxbridge needs, and leveraging the full potential of downtown revitalization and the Anderson Boulevard industrial area.

We will build a more vibrant, livable community by getting the Town Square right, supporting public art, events, beautification, youth leadership, parks, trails, recreation, environmental stewardship, and practical solutions for community assets such as the Zephyr Library and recreational spaces.

We will restore confidence through accountability and transparency. That means clear budgets, responsible spending, a dedicated Accountability and Transparency Committee, stronger in-camera best practices, plain-language reporting, and leadership that represents every hamlet, neighbourhood, and corner of Uxbridge.

We will pursue practical transportation solutions, including full-time dedicated Dial-a-Ride service, accessible and conventional transit options, and regional connections that reflect how Uxbridge residents actually live, work, shop, and travel.

We will protect taxpayer value through responsible budgeting, long-term planning, disciplined project management, and a relentless focus on results. Every dollar must be connected to a clear public benefit.

And we will communicate better. Residents deserve respectful, professional, plain-language updates, stronger connections with community groups, and a more informed Uxbridge.

These eight pillars are not slogans. They are a management framework for a better-run municipality: safer, more affordable, more accountable, more connected, and more prepared for the future.
